  • Possibly — especially if you're using oral contraception and experience vomiting, nausea, or diarrhoea.

  • It's recommended to use a non-oral or long-acting method like an implant, coil, or injection while taking GLP-1s.

  • For tirzepatide (Mounjaro) users:

    • Use a backup method (like condoms) for 4 weeks after starting or increasing the dose.

  • For semaglutide (Wegovy) and similar medications:

    • No backup method is needed unless you have symptoms that affect absorption.

🧠 What should I do next?

  • Talk to your healthcare provider if you use oral contraception

  • Let them know you're starting or using a GLP-1 medication.

  • They’ll help you stay safe and make any needed adjustments.
