What if I become pregnant, or want to start trying for a baby while taking a GLP-1 medication?

GLP-1 medications aren't suitable if you're pregnant, breastfeeding, or actively trying to conceive.

If you're sexually active, we strongly recommend using contraception while taking GLP-1 medications. Barrier methods (like condoms) or long-acting reversible contraception (such as coils, implants, or injections) are advised, as these medications may reduce the effectiveness of the oral contraceptive pill.

If pregnancy is something you're considering in the future, it's recommended to wait at least two months after stopping medication before trying to conceive, to allow time for it to fully leave your system.

If you become pregnant or are planning a pregnancy, please inform your prescriber and GP immediately.
