How to Sync Fitbit with Google Fit Using Health Connect

Syncing Fitbit to Google Fit on your Android device

Syncing your Fitbit data with Google Fit is now easier than ever, thanks to the integration with Health Connect. This feature allows you to seamlessly share your health and fitness data between Fitbit and Google Fit.

Once your steps are synced to Google Fit the data can then sync across to Second Nature, click here on how to make sure Second Nature is connected to Google Fit.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get started:


Step 1: Set Up Health Connect in the Fitbit App

  1. Open the Fitbit app on your phone.

  2. Tap on the Settings cog.

  3. Select Health Connect.

  4. Toggle on Sync with Health Connect.

  5. Select TURN ON on the next screen.

  6. Toggle on the data fields Fitbit is allowed to write to Health Connect.

  7. Tap Allow, then tap Done


Step 2: Enable Health Connect in Google Fit

  1. Open the Google Fit app

  2. Choose the profile tab

  3. Click the settings 'gear' icon in the top right

  4. Toggle on 'Sync Fit with Health Connect'

  5. Click 'Set up'

  6. Click 'Get started'

  7. Toggle on the data that you'd like to be shared

  8. Click 'Allow'


If you encounter any issues, make sure both the Fitbit and Google Fit apps are updated to the latest versions, and that Health Connect is properly configured on your device.
