Bluetooth scales are a convenient way to track your weight directly through the app. However, if you're noticing inaccurate readings, it can be frustrating and misleading for your fitness goals. Here’s a guide to help you troubleshoot and resolve issues with your Bluetooth scales.

1. Ensure Proper Placement of the Scales

Flat, Hard Surface:
Ensure that your scales are placed on a flat, hard surface. Soft surfaces like carpets or uneven floors can cause inaccurate readings.

Stable Position:
Make sure the scales are not wobbling or shifting as you step on them. A stable, level surface is crucial for accurate measurements.

2. Check the Battery Level

Low Battery:
Low battery levels can affect the accuracy of your scales. Replace the batteries with fresh ones if you haven't done so recently.

Battery Placement:
Ensure that the batteries are correctly placed in their compartment. Loose or improperly installed batteries can lead to incorrect readings.

3. Calibrate the Scales

Resetting the Scales:
Most Bluetooth scales require calibration, especially if they've been moved. To recalibrate:

  • Step on the scales briefly, just until the display lights up, then step off.

  • Wait until the scales display “0.0” or similar before stepping on again for a reading.

Regular Calibration:
It’s a good idea to recalibrate your scales regularly, particularly after moving them or changing the batteries.

4. Ensure Consistent Weighing Conditions

Same Time, Same Conditions:
For consistent results, weigh yourself at the same time each day, ideally in the morning after waking up, and under the same conditions (e.g., before eating or drinking).

Minimal Clothing:
Wearing heavy clothing or holding objects can affect the weight reading. Weigh yourself with minimal clothing for the most accurate measurement.

5. Verify the Bluetooth Connection

Re-pair the Scales:
If you suspect a connection issue:

  • Unpair the scales from your device.

  • Restart your phone.

  • Re-pair the scales by following the steps here

If you need to delete any incorrect weight readings from your account
