If you’re experiencing issues with your Bluetooth scales not syncing, here’s a step-by-step guide to help you resolve the problem and get your data flowing again.
1. Check the Basics
Bluetooth is On:
Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone. You can check this in your device's settings menu.
Proximity to Device:
Ensure that your phone is within a few feet of the scales. Bluetooth connections can weaken over longer distances, which may prevent syncing.
Battery Level:
Low battery levels on either your scales or smartphone can cause syncing issues. Replace or recharge the batteries if needed.
2. Re-Pair the Scales with Your Phone
Unpair the Scales:
If syncing issues persist, try unpairing the scales from your device. You can do this in the Bluetooth settings on your phone.
Restart Your Phone:
Turn your phone off and on again to reset the Bluetooth connection.
Re-Pair the Scales:
Open the Second Nature app
Select 'Track' at the bottom of the page
Select 'My devices'
Step on the scales (with bare feet) your weight reading will then blink on the display again
Immediately select 'Pair new scales' in ‘My devices’
As long as the scales are paired to the app, any subsequent weight readings will automatically sync to your account.
3. Check App Permissions
Permissions Enabled:
Ensure the app has the necessary permissions to access Bluetooth and location services.
Enable Permissions:
Go to Settings > Apps > Second Nature > Permissions.
Make sure Bluetooth, location, and any other relevant permissions are enabled.
4. Reinstall the App
Delete and Reinstall: If the problem persists, delete the app and reinstall it from the App Store or Google Play Store (all your data will remain saved in your account). This can help eliminate any software glitches that may be preventing syncing.
Sign Back In:
After reinstalling, sign back into your account and attempt to sync the scales again.
