How to Sync Google Health (Fitbit) to Health Connect

Syncing Fitbit to Health Connect on your Android device

Written by Ana

Syncing your Fitbit data with Second Nature is now easier than ever, thanks to Health Connect. This feature allows you to seamlessly share your health and fitness data between Fitbit and Second Nature, with Health Connect acting as the bridge between the two.

Note: the Fitbit app has been replaced by the Google Health app.

Once your steps are synced to Health Connect, the data can then sync across to Second Nature automatically.

Here's a step-by-step guide to help you get started:

Step 1: Set Up Health Connect in the Google Health App

  1. Open the Google Health app on your phone (this was previously called the Fitbit app).

  2. Tap "Connections", then tap "Partner apps".

  3. Under "Add connections", tap "Sync your favourite health apps", then "Set up". (Health Connect)

  4. Review the on-screen information and tap "Accept".

  5. Tap the data you'd like to sync, then tap "Continue".

  6. Choose what data to allow access to (fitness/wellness data, and medical records if prompted).

  7. Tap "Allow" to confirm.

Step 2: Connect Second Nature to Health Connect

  1. Open the Second Nature app.

  2. Tap "Profile" - top right corner of the screen next to the bell icon.

  3. Tap "Settings".

  4. Under "Tracking" select "Set up Health Connect".

  5. Tap "show setup instructions", then tap "Switch to Health Connect".

  6. Choose the data you'd like to share and tap "Allow".

If you encounter any issues, make sure the Google Health app is updated to the latest version, and that Health Connect is properly configured on your device.
