Getting started on the Second Nature programme

Where to find key information leading up to your start date

Welcome to the Second Nature programme! This guide will help you access the app, explore key learning materials, and understand what to expect during week 0 and week 1 of your journey.

Getting started

If you haven’t already, download the Second Nature mobile app here:

After signing up and selecting your programme start date, you’ll be placed in a group with other members who start on the same day. Your group will provide peer support throughout your journey.


💬 Group chat

  • Tap the Chat icon at the bottom of the app and select Group.

  • Here, you can interact with your group members and health coach throughout the programme.

  • Your health coach will introduce themselves the week before your start date and begin guiding discussions from Monday of week 1.

Note: There’s no specific time you need to be online - the group chat is ongoing, and all learning content is accessible at any time so you can fit the programme around your schedule.


💬 1:1 chat

You can reach out to your health coach privately at any time through the 1:1 chat. This is ideal for questions you’d prefer not to share in the group chat.

To open a 1:1 chat:

  1. Tap the Chat icon at the bottom of the app

  2. Select your coach’s name, or 1-1 Chat

Your health coach will respond within 48 hours, excluding weekends.


📱Using the app

All programme tools and features are accessed through the mobile app.

Before your start date:

  • We recommend reviewing the Prepare content to get ready for week 1.

  • Tap the Toolbox icon → Programme articlesPrepare.

From the Toolbox, you can access:


📉 Tracking your progress:

  • Use the Track page to log weight, steps, and sleep.

  • You can sync sleep and activity data from Apple Health or Google Fit. If you use Fitbit, Garmin, or Apple Watch, these devices can sync through Google Fit or Apple Health to your Second Nature account.

    📝 How to manually add readings:

    To log your weight:

    1. Tap ‘Track’ in the app

    2. Tap ‘Weight’

    3. Tap ‘Add weight manually’

    4. Enter your reading, date, and time

    5. Tap ‘Add’

    To log your steps:

    1. Tap ‘Track’

    2. Tap ‘Steps’ at the top

    3. Tap ‘Add steps manually’

    4. Enter your steps and date

    5. Tap ‘Add’

      You can also connect to Google Fit or Apple Health if you prefer to sync your steps/weight from there:


📦 Package delivery

Depending on your country, you may receive a package if included in your subscription. Packages are delivered between Wednesday and Saturday before your Monday start date.


❓ Where to direct queries

  1. FAQs: Search for keywords in the FAQ section first - many questions are answered there.

  2. Nutrition questions: Message your health coach via group chat or 1:1 chat. Tag them in group chat with @ followed by their name.

  3. Subscription, app, or package questions: Contact Customer Support via the Chat page or email support@secondnature.io.
